Busy

I've been so busy these days with studying so I haven't been updating much. Plus I don't really have anything to write about, unless you care to read an account of my french homework. But it won't be long until my days are filled with floaty white dresses, bare feet, sand, sea and accoustic songs.

An ideal day in...Kildare

I've decided I'll try to do one of these for each county I go shopping in.

Start the day by;
Waking up fairly early and heading into Naas. It's not glamorous but it does have some bargains to be had.
Go to;
There's plenty of stuff to do, it really just depends on the time that you get there at. Most shops open at about 10 on a Saturday. Don't go on Sunday, many shops are closed.
For me, I always start the day with a trip to my favourite second hand shop ever, the Sue Ryder Shop. I nearly always get something that I wear a lot, some of my favourite pieces come from there.
Secondly, head onto the boutiques. Now, I'm not a big boutique shopper, a lot of the time I feel kind of uncomfortable because they're so small and some of the workers follow you. But, there are some good brands if you look hard enough. I suggest;
Aria; By Malene Bierger(one of my favourite more atteinable brands) Ben De Lisi(he's pretty hot now, right?) Vivienne Westwood for Melissa, and some lesser know brands.
Nicola Ross, Couture, Crave (See by Chloé) are some other noteworthy boutiques, but I'm not expert so you might want to check out this website;
http://www.irishboutiques.com/
for some better advice.

Then I would go to Barker and Jones for the latest copy of i-D or Vogue and just to generally soak up the lovely atmosphere in that shop. The Makeup Box has some really stunning interior and is a great place to browse in and maybe pick up some makeup.

Then I'd love to go for a cup of coffee and some sugar filled cakes for an energy boost. There's plenty of cafes around the area so I don't think you'll need any help in that area.

Onto Newbridge now, which is only a short drive away from Naas. We usually park in Whitewater and go straight to Penneys for some cheap thrills, which is a very quick walk away from Whitewater. After I spend a (very) small fortune, I go to two of my favourite places, swap shops. I love Tosca, it has a lot of great labels(Chanel is a regular), but because it is a swap shop there is no garaunteeing what will be there. But it's the thrill of the chase, right? Then onto The Swap Shop, which is convieniently placed beside it.

And now to one of the best things in Kildare. I cannnot express my love for Newbridge Silverware. No, I'm not interested in expensive cutlery or jewellery, but it's upstairs that houses the most amazing stuff in the world. I HAVE TO WRITE IN CAPS LOCK TO DESCRIBE HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! The Style Museum is just...beyond words.
Ever wanted to see Audrey Hepburn's dresses up close? (Including the pink one she wore in Breakfast at Tiffany's)
How about Marilyn Monroe's umbrella?
Grace Kelly's green Givenchy dress?
SJP's Louboutins?
Micheal Jackson's diamond encrusted glove?

Yes. You can actually see these dresses. In real life. Yes. I know. Breath in.
I just feel a sort of magic when I go here, that you can see such amazing pieces up so close, worn by these inspirational women(and men).
Then I'd go for lunch in the Style Museum and head home after a day well spent.

What I learned from the Met Gala.

1) Chanel Iman will always make my heart skip a beat, regardless of what she's wearing.

2)André Leon Talley is the funniest man in fashion. (that scene in The September Issue where he is playing tennis with his Louis Vuitton cases for, well, what? cracked me up.)

3)The 'For Gap' gowns stole the show.

4)Everytime I see Nicole Richie, her hair is completely different.

5) Chanel(background, walking up the stairs) looks like something from a cheesy but cool sci-fi where all of fashion's favourite people are transported to a different planet and they have sliding doors like in Star Trek. Oh and did I mention I love Chanel Iman?

6) Ew, she's back with that scumbag?

7) Miu Miu owns my soul.

8) It should be illegal for a 17 year old to be 6'5.

9) Katy Perry makes me think of a That's So Raven episode I watched when I was 10 where she makes a denim suit that lights up and she ends up going on fire. Or something. (not a good thing, putting lights on a dress doesn't make you edgy.)

10) I love the Met Gala.
